 2010 academic involvement update
This document is an update to the original 2005 Academic Involvement Plan Discussion Paper. This report will update the University of Victoria Art Collections and Galleries' (UVACG) current activities with regard to academic involvement on campus and provide "next step" recommendations regarding increasing and improving the academic integration of the UVACG's collections, exhibitions and programs with course offerings at the University of Victoria and sustaining these initiatives.

The purpose of this document is to summarize the Maltwood's current activities with regard to academic involvement on campus and to provide a starting point for discussion regarding increasing and improving the academic integration of the Maltwood's collections, exhibitions and programs with course offerings at the University of Victoria.

 ANTH 395 blog
This blog is an interactive space for the documentation of anthropology 395, an intensive summer museum collection based field school at the University of Victoria. The course is centred around a recently acquired collection of aboriginal children's art by the Maltwood Art Gallery and Museum. Students' work to develop an exhibition of this artwork that will be shown at the Legacy Gallery in 2011 in downtown Victoria.

 Graphic Radicals exhibition blog
Graphic Radicals was a themed presentation of the work of World War 3 Illustrated, a New York artist collective, from the 1980s to the present day. The art confronted issues such as anti-war protests, squatting in New York, the tragedies of 9-11, racism, prisons and anarchism through a variety of mediums including posters, graphic illustrations, paintings, banners and other media.

 HA 495/595 website: Regarding Wealth
This was an exhibition concerning the intersections between art and homelessness. This exhibition was part of an ongoing series of projects and class seminars featuring artwork from the University of Victoria’s Michael Williams Collection led by Dr. Carolyn Butler-Palmer who occupies the Williams Legacy Chair.
