Please join Ana Maria Peredo, Rose Henry, Kelly Reid,
and Kathy Stinson Executive Director for Victoria Cool-Aid Society, for a
round-table discussion about the intersections of art and well being. Our
discussants will probe questions such as: What is wealth? What role does
art play in community making? How can art improve our lives? How
can art mediate conditions of poverty? In what way can art contribute to
the well being of communities? We promise an engaging discussion and plan
to open up a creative dialogue experience, about the exciting role art can play
in shaping our local community. Free admission but please call 250-721-8480 to reserve a seat.

Regarding Wealth
This exhibit examines the
dynamics of wealth relations by probing the intersections of art and
homelessness. History in Art Assistant Professor and Williams Legacy
Chair, Dr. Carolyn Butler Palmer leads an annual seminar on curatorial practice
that draws on the Michael C. Williams Collection. This exhibition is the result of her students’
collaboration.

Revival:
The Personal Archive of Robert Aller
A snapshot of the recently
acquired archive of the late artist and teacher Robert Aller. While studying under Arthur Lismer in Montreal, Aller’s interest in First Nations art grew, and it became his lifelong challenge to
document the lives and art forms of First Nations people.

media in which these 27 artists are working, including painting, drawing,
ceramics and sculpture. Participating artists include Pat Martin Bates, Donald Harvey, Walter

McPherson Library Gallery
The McPherson Library Gallery will be moving to a new location
adjacent to Special Collections. The new gallery will house our permanent
collection of works on paper (drawings, prints, paintings, photographs), and
will act as both a storage and exhibition area.
Maltwood Art Museum & Gallery
The
University Centre Building is undergoing seismic work from April 2010 to
February 2011, which will interrupt our exhibition and programming
schedules. Please check our
website for updates.
